Inclusive Sport & Social Impact

Movement is for everyone.

Sport, play and shared activity belong to everyone — whatever their age, ability or mobility. LACOM wants to help make movement more inclusive and accessible in everyday life.

This page describes LACOM's direction and areas of interest. No programs or events have been announced yet.

Why movement matters

Taking part is part of everyday life.

Movement is more than exercise. It is walking with friends, playing with children, joining a team, getting outdoors and being part of what happens in a community.

When activities, places and equipment are accessible, more people can take part — and taking part is what makes movement a normal part of everyday life.

Areas of interest

Six areas LACOM wants to support.

Directions for future work, not existing programs.

Areas of interest
  • Adaptive sport

Sport adapted to different abilities, from first try-outs to regular activity.

  • Inclusive recreation

Leisure and play that everyone can join.

  • Family participation

Activities that families can do together.

  • Outdoor activity

Getting outside: parks, paths and the coast.

  • Accessible events

Events planned so that everyone can attend and take part.

  • Community inclusion

Movement as a way to connect people and communities.

Mobility

Equipment that makes participation possible.

Adaptive equipment — wheelchairs, handcycles, adaptive e-bikes and sport equipment — is often what turns interest into participation. Inclusive sport builds on LACOM's mobility and adaptive-living work.

Professional community

Built together with specialists.

Inclusive activity works best when specialists, organisations and educators work together. LACOM's professional network is one place where such collaboration could start.

Future activities

Possible activities.

Ideas LACOM may develop with partners. Nothing is scheduled.

Concept / future activity

  • Inclusive movement events
